Akhil Akkineni is basking in the success of Lenin, but for the actor, the film's impressive box office performance is only one part of the story. After the Telugu action drama crossed Rs 60 crore worldwide during its opening weekend, Akhil has opened up about the emotional significance of the film, calling it a long-awaited moment of redemption for himself and everyone who believed in him.

Presented by Annapurna Studios, Lenin has received an overwhelming response from audiences since its release, emerging as one of the biggest hits of Akhil's career.

Akhil Akkineni says film is personal

Sharing his thoughts on the film's phenomenal reception, Akhil Akkineni said the love and respect from audiences have meant far more than the collections.

"Given the overwhelming response, the positivity I have received from the audience, and the respect they are giving me - yes, it's way, way more than box office numbers," the actor said.

While acknowledging that commercial success remains important for producers, distributors and exhibitors, Akhil admitted the film represents something much more personal.

"Beyond that, it's an emotional journey that has found its redemption at the end," he said, adding that the last few days have been filled with relief and gratitude.

Akhil also revealed that the film has already turned profitable for its distributors, making the achievement even more special.

"Today, my distributors called me to share that the film has recovered its investment and they are in profit. I just can't tell you how much it means for everyone who has believed in me and in this project. It's an emotional answer, but it's the plain and simple truth," he said.
