Anupama Parameswaran has become candid about the narcissistic abuse she has faced in her past relationship, and many believe she is talking about Dhruv Vikram. The actress has opened up about a difficult phase in her personal life, revealing that she was allegedly slut-shamed by her boyfriend before a promotional event for Paradha. She also revealed how she began to hate herself.
On Dhyan Varma's YouTube channel, Anupama opened up about crying during a Paradha promotional event. While netizens mocked her, she clarified that it was because she was slut-shamed by her boyfriend. She revealed, "I was sitting wearing a red chudidar at a promotional event for Paradha. I started crying when a journalist asked me a question. It's because I was told the most awful things a woman can hear. A person who was supposed to protect me was destroying me. People mocked me for that. They said I was playing a sympathy card, or it was part of the promotions. It had nothing to do with Paradha. It was about what I was going through in my real life."
Anupama continued, "Imagine your own boyfriend slut-shaming you before you go onto a stage. For two years of my life, I've been constantly pretending that I'm okay. The person you are talking to right now is the same person I am everywhere. I don't wear a mask and walk out of the home. For the last two years, I've been pretending to be okay. And once I did not."
The actress also alleged on the podcast that she faced "narcissistic abuse" from her boyfriend of two years. Anupama even claimed that she began "hating being a woman" because, irrespective of when she'd get her periods, her ex-boyfriend would blame her behaviour on her fluctuating hormones. "I was so ashamed. At this point, I don't even want kids. I felt so embarrassed being a woman," added the actor.
Dhruv Vikram addressed scrutiny over his personal life amid Anupama Parameswaran's recent statements about a difficult past relationship. Without directly addressing the speculation, Dhruv admitted that the attention has affected him. The actor also spoke about creating a personal space away from the noise and focusing on inner work.
