Anupama Parameswaran recalls suffering anxiety attacks in past relationship: ‘My lacrimal gland had to be stitched’

Anupama Parameswaran has opened up about experiencing what she described as narcissistic abuse in a past relationship. Her revelation led to many speculating that she was referring to actor Dhruv Vikram. She has now revealed how she experienced panic attacks and blackouts. She also revealed her lacrimal gland became swollen and required surgery.

Anupama reveals she had panic attacks, blackouts

In a conversation with Dhanya Varma, Anupama went on to share that there was never a period of normalcy in the relationship; it was either extreme highs or extreme lows. "When you are going through extreme anxiety, it affects you physically. Panic attacks, anxiety attacks, yes, blackouts, I was losing a lot of weight… I had none of this; I was a happy and normal child. My right eye even started twitching, and we had to stop shooting… it was such a condition. Some conversation would happen, and I would throw up, and I would not eat anything. I lost so much weight. I was crying every single night for hours and hours, and I would have to get up and go for a shoot. If you see promotions of Paaradha, one side of my eye was like a very big swollen. My lacrimal gland itself fell off from there, and we had to stitch it back."

She added, "There are wounds in my body, not physical abuse, and issues in my body that can never be healed - physical and mental. People asked me why couldn't I get out of it, but no one understands that it was like a spider web."
