Diljit Dosanjh is winning hearts during his European tour, and his recent gesture towards a fan has grabbed attention. During a live gig, the singer noticed a fan wearing a T-shirt featuring his name alongside the sacred Sikh symbol Ik Onkar. Diljit gently addressed the pairing and asked the audience to forgive the fan.
During the live performance, Diljit Dosanjh noticed a fan in the audience wearing a customised white T-shirt that featured his name alongside the sacred Sikh symbol Ik Onkar. The fan, who was accompanied by a woman, was invited on stage, where Diljit immediately addressed the combination with visible respect.
The Chamkila actor gently placed his hand over the print and explained that the sacred symbol should not be associated with his name. Speaking in English, he said, "This is God... This is very special... and my name together, no, no." Diljit made it clear that Ik Onkar holds a deeply sacred significance and belongs solely to the divine.
However, rather than embarrassing the fan, Diljit acknowledged that the gesture was made with good intentions. He turned to the audience and defended him in Punjabi, saying, "I respect your feelings. Inhe pata nahi, maaf kar do please (He didn't know, please forgive him). But I respect you... Ek Onkar, mere walon saare ek ne (To me, everyone is one)."
Diljit Dosanjh brought his trademark energy to Berlin ahead of the European leg of his World Tour, sharing fun glimpses from the German capital. The singer was seen breaking into bhangra on the streets and climbing the iconic Berlin Victory Column. He also made the most of his time in Prague as he explored the Czech capital between concerts.
On the acting front, Diljit was most recently seen in Imtiaz Ali's Main Vaapas Aaunga, alongside Sharvari, Vedang Raina and Naseeruddin Shah. The Partition-era romantic drama opened to a modest collection but soon witnessed a significant turnaround after receiving positive word of mouth and a strong audience response.
Apart from this, he featured in Honey Trehan's Satluj, based on the life of human rights activist Jaswant Singh Khalra. However, it was pulled down from ZEE5, stirring major controversy, with Sikh communities holding private screenings.
