Punjabi actor-singer Diljit Dosanjh is all set to appear on Amitabh Bachchan's Kaun Banega Crorepati 17. The singer has already shot for the special episode, which is yet to premiere. While the makers have not released a promo yet, Diljit confirmed his presence during a Q&A session on Instagram. He also revealed what he plans to do with the prize money he wins from the show.
Recently, the singer-actor interacted with fans on X (formerly known as Twitter). He responded to several questions about his songs and album. He also answered one question about KBC. When a fan asked, "How was the experience in KBC?", the actor-singer replied, "It's for Punjab flood," adding a folded hands emoji.
For those unversed, the Indian state of Punjab endured its worst floods in over four decades this September. The flash floods hit over 1,400 villages, resulting in more than 30 fatalities and affecting 250,000-350,000 people. After the heartbreaking incidents, several celebrities came forward to extend support to the state.
In a powerful gesture of solidarity, actor-singer Diljit Dosanjh adopted ten of the most severely affected villages in Gurdaspur and Amritsar. His team, the Saanjh Foundation, is providing urgent essentials such as food, clean drinking water, medical supplies, and solar lights to villagers struggling amid the crisis. Long-term plans include rehabilitation and sustainable reconstruction.
He also thanked several authorities who came forward to help. Sharing a video, he said, "The situation in Punjab is very bad due to floods. People have lost their homes. Crops have been destroyed. Animals - cows, buffaloes - have died. People's lives have been ruined. Punjab is wounded, but not defeated. We have risen from the lap of Punjab. Punjab has adopted us. And we will die in the lap of Punjab. We want to tell all those who are suffering that we are with them."
On the work front, Diljit recently released his album Aura. His highly anticipated collaboration Kufar, which stars Manushi Chhillar is also out. He will next be seen in Border 2 alongside Varun Dhawan, Ahan Shetty, and Sunny Deol. Apart from this, he was supposed to be a part of No Entry 2; however, he backed out of the film due to date issues. He is also reuniting with Imtiaz Ali for a love story.
