CM Vijay rejects flowers and a shawl; actor Vishal uses the money to educate 3 girls instead

Thalapathy Vijay has been garnering immense praise for his stint as Tamil Nadu CM. Recently, actor Vishal shared a glimpse of their meeting and remembered their college days, addressing him as ‘darling.' Alongside the meeting, Vishal announced that he is sponsoring the education of three underprivileged girl children in Vijay's name. Vishal previously questioned the appointment of a minister by him.

Actor Vishal sponsors education in name of CM Vijay

Taking to his social media timelines, he penned a post on his recent meeting with the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, whom Vishal said he knew from the time they were students in Loyola College. He has been using the word ‘darling' to address Vijay.

Vishal, who has known the Chief Minister for a long time, said that Vijay continued to be the same warm person that he was several years ago. "Today, the posting and designation have changed, but the person you are hasn't. And it was an absolute delight to meet you and felt the same warmth. From #Kalaignar Ayya to #Jayalalitha Amma to #Stalin uncle to my very own #Udhaya, it was lovely to say darling to the CM of our state. The fanboy moment in me will always remain," Vishal wrote in his post.

Vishal also wrote that he is sponsoring the education of three underprivileged girl children in Vijay's name. He wrote, "God bless you and thank you for accepting the gesture of not accepting the mandatory bouquet and shawl," Vishal said, and added that he had instead used that money to educate three deserving underprivileged girl children in Tamil Nadu on his behalf and in his name. They will be proud and will remember you forever."

When Vishal criticized Vijay

Tamil actor Vishal has questioned Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay over the decision to assign the Film Technology and Cinematograph Act portfolio to Egmore MLA Rajmohan. His remarks came after Governor Rajendra Arlekar approved the allocation of portfolios to the nine ministers sworn in alongside Vijay on May 10.

Taking to X, Vishal said it was "disheartening" to see Rajmohan handling the film-related ministry, arguing that Vijay himself was better equipped to address the concerns of the Tamil film industry because of his decades-long association with cinema.

Thalapathy Vijay has been in the news for several reasons apart from becoming CM. His last film, Jana Nayagan, has been in limbo over CBFC issues. Apart from this, he is parting ways with Sangeetha Sornalingam.
