Trisha and Suriya in Karuppu (Pic/X)
Actor Suriya recently took to social media to share a long note thanking the cast and crew of his latest film, Karuppu, amid the film's success. However, many eagle-eyed social media users noticed that the actor did not mention Trisha, who plays the female lead in the film. The omission sparked a debate in the comments, with several users asking why her name was missing.
The discussion sparked a debate online, as Trisha reshared the post in her Instagram stories. In his post shared on X, Suriya wrote, "Karuppu The love, name and fame we are getting from across the globe, goes to the entire cast and crew of Karuppu who believed & worked hard. Backed by DreamWarriorpic, S R Prakash Babu and prabhu_sr."
He further continued, "Thank you dear kalaivananoffl for focusing solely on our film till we locked the edit. You balanced our work alongside your newborn, much appreciate. Sai! No words to thank you SaiAbhyankkar. Happy for the love you are getting. You are the backbone for our film to have this level of vibe and celebration in theaters."
In the same note, Suriya added, "dop_gkvishnu Bawa! Respect for the immense love you had for me while filming. You and your team worked day and night to give your best. Your love is the âmagic dust' on Karuppu. RJ_Balaji You promised me a blockbuster, and you've also earned everybody's love while delivering it. Respect to your Manifestation powers. Shine brighter."
The actor's note was a message of gratitude to the team behind Karuppu, as he specially mentioned several collaborators. Although fans appreciated his gesture towards the members of the unit, the absence of Trisha's name stood out for many, especially given that she is one of the film's central actors.
One fan pointed out, "Mentioned every crew member except her, that says it all. But the main thing is, she wasn't invited to the audio launch. Despite everything, she has no ego and still remains kind. What a woman she is, but she still reshared the tweet (sic)."
Meanwhile, others discussed how Suriya may have only meant to discuss the contribution of the technicians and had no intention of disrespecting or omitting Trisha. One social media user also highlighted the same and wrote, "In the video, he thanked Trisha. This tweet is just for thanking the main technicians behind the film (sic)."
