Vijay Deverakonda's Kingdom hit the big screens today. Directed by Gowtam Tinnanuri of Jersey fame, the film promised to be an action spectacle with a heavy emotional aspect. The film, which sees Vijay play a cop who turns spy, was released amid much anticipation and hype. For Vijay as well, it marked a big film as he had a hit in seven years.
Audiences who went to watch the film on day 1 of release took tos coial media to share their thoughts on what they watched. While many hailed Vijay's performance, some felt the story could have been better. Some also called it Vijay's grand comeback at the box office and expect the film to flourish.
A netizen took to X on Thursday and described the film in two lines. "Lite version of KGF. Good version of Retro. That's Kingdom".
It seems like Rashmika watched the film on the day and showered love on Vijay. The two are rumoured to be dating and hence her reaction to the film makes it even more special. On Thursday, Rashmika took to X and wrote, "I known how much his means to you and all those who love you".
"Manam Kootinam (we've done it/we've got a hit)," she wrote. Vijay responded to the tweet with the same phrase.
Vijay also seemed emotional as he addressed fans for showing him love, writing, ":,) I wish i could share with you how i feel right now..i wish you could all feel this with me..Aah Venkanna Swami daya (folded hands and heart emojis) Mee Andari Prema (red heart emojis) Inka em kavali naa lanti okkadki. (All thanks to Lord Balaji and your love. What else does someone like me need)".
Gowtam brings his own style to Kingdom, mixing strong drama with smooth storytelling and emotional moments. Editor Navin Nooli adds sharp, perfect cuts that make the trailer even more powerful and engaging.
The film has generated a lot of buzz ever since its makers released a gripping teaser. In the teaser, Vijay Deverakonda comes across as a character that resembles an unstoppable force- blazing with intensity and destined for greatness. The film, which was initially being referred to as VD12, has the tagline, âFrom the shadows of betrayal, shall rise a king.'
Written and directed by Gowtam Tinnanuri, the film has music by Anirudh Ravichander and editing by Navin Nooli. It is being produced by Naga Vamsi S and Sai Soujanya under Sithara Entertainments and Fortune 4 Cinemas Banners, respectively. The film is to be presented by Srikara Studios. Well-known costume designer Neeraja Kona is in-charge of the costumes for this film, which has its songs choreographed by Vijay Binni. Three stunt choreographers - Yannick Ben, Chethan D'Souza, Real Satis - have worked on the film, which is full of action sequences.
