In one of the viral videos from the theatre visit, Ram Charan was seen seated alongside his team as fans erupted in loud chants of "Peddi, Peddi," celebrating the film's release. The actor acknowledged the overwhelming love and support, thanking the audience for their enthusiastic response. However, what truly caught attention was a heartfelt moment amid the frenzy. Talking about Ram Charan's fan following, a few days back, his Japanese fans were seen visiting Hyderabad, taking a break from their work to enjoy his film. While they have watched the film thrice, they plan to watch it 10 times.
Ram Charan and Janhvi Kapoor's Peddi continues to post strong numbers at the box office, with the film crossing Rs 233 crore worldwide in just four days. The sports action drama, set in rural Andhra Pradesh during the 1980s, follows the journey of a lower-caste villager who turns to wrestling in a bid to earn recognition and dignity for his community.
Apart from Ram Charan and Janhvi Kapoor, the film also stars Shiva Rajkumar, Jagapathi Babu, Divyenndu, and Boman Irani in key roles. The film features music by A. R. Rahman and cinematography by Ratnavelu.
Peddi has been making headlines for reasons beyond its box-office performance. A section of viewers criticized Janhvi Kapoor's hyper-sexualised portrayal. While the director apologised and vowed to modufy scenes, she got support from industry colleagues.
