Actress Rashmika Mandanna is set to reunite with Allu Arjun for director Atlee's ambitious sci-fi fantasy action film, Raaka. The reunion comes after the success of the Pushpa franchise, where Rashmika and Allu Arjun's pairing as Srivalli and Pushpa Raj was widely appreciated by audiences across the country. As they gear up for yet another blockbuster, Rashmika and Arjun are set to commence shooting in Mumbai.
According to an exclusive report by Variety India, the Mumbai schedule of the film is expected to commence soon, marking another collaboration between the popular on-screen pair. Rashmika is reportedly set to portray a negative role in the film, offering audiences a new side of her acting range. Also starring Deepika Padukone, the film is mounted on a grand scale and is expected to release in theatres in late 2027.
Raaka is directed by Jawan fame Atlee. The first-look poster of Allu Arjun from Raaka showed an intense close-up of him with a rugged bald look. His face was partially covered by a wolf-like claw, with only his sharply focused eyes visible. The film also stars Mrunal Thakur and Janhvi Kapoor in pivotal roles.
The film is reportedly being mounted on a massive budget of over Rs 700 crore and is being produced by Sun Pictures. According to industry buzz, the makers are reportedly planning to release Raaka in December 2027.
Rashmika has also enjoyed a successful run with films including Animal, Chhaava, and the recently released Cocktail 2, which stars her alongside Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon. The film is receiving an overwhelming response at the box office.
Looking ahead, Rashmika has an exciting slate that includes Mysaa, an action thriller featuring her in a rugged and fierce role as a Gond tribal woman.
She also has Ranabaali, which marks her third collaboration with Vijay Deverakonda. The film is a grand historical action drama inspired by lesser-known chapters of India's past, unfolding against the backdrop of the colonial era. Vijay headlines the film as a fearless warrior, while Rashmika plays his wife, Jayamma. She also awaits Pushpa 3 and Animal Park.
