Sujatha Vijayakumar defends daughter Aarti Ravi amid Ravi Mohan’s allegations

Popular Tamil film actor, director, and producer Ravi Mohan is going through a harrowing time on the personal front due to his estranged wife Aarti Ravi and speculation around his relationship with rumoured partner, singer Keneeshaa Francis. On Saturday, May 16, the actor held a press conference addressing the media, where he mentioned that he is taking a break from acting until his divorce proceedings are completed. He levelled allegations against Aarti and her family. Aarti's mother, producer Sujatha Vijayakumar, has now supported her daughter.

Aarti Ravi's mother defends her

Ravi Mohan claimed he won't resume work or release his films until the divorce proceedings end. During the press conference, he broke down multiple times and made claims of cyberbullying, harassment, and more.

When asked about the circumstances of Ravi and Aarti's marriage, Sujatha said, "There was an interview in Vikatan magazine in 2008 that explained this. I am looking for it now. It reveals who got blackmailed and who cut their wrists to get married."

Sujatha also denied Ravi's claims that he wasn't able to spend the money he earned, stating that the matter was clarified in court. When asked if he paid Rs 25,000 per month for her medical bills, she said he didn't, and even if he did, it would be his ‘duty as a son-in-law'. The producer also told reporters that they would get in touch with the Cyber Crime unit regarding the cyberbullying claims.

Aarti Ravi's cryptic note

On Saturday, Aarti took to her Instagram handle and wrote a cryptic note directly aimed at her estranged husband's recent claims against her. "You never wake a sleeping lion. God help if she's a mamma lion. My dignified silence should never be mistaken for weakness or taken undue advantage of. If needed, to protect my children and my dignity, I will step out of my comfort zone and face the world with the truth. Because truth always prevails."

Ravi Mohan's press conference came shortly after Keneeshaa Francis' social media post, in which she announced her withdrawal from public life. Two years ago, Ravi Mohan announced that he was proceeding with the dissolution of his marriage with Aarti Ravi after 15 years of togetherness.
