'We were like bodyguards': Yash recalls being worried, taking care of pregnant Kiara Advani on Toxic sets

Bollywood actor Kiara Advani is all set to return to the big screen in Geetu Mohandas' Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown-Ups, marking her first film after welcoming her daughter Saraayah Malhotra in July 2025. The team of the upcoming film gathered once again on Thursday in Mumbai for the film's audio launch, wherein Kiara's co-star Yash was all praise for her dedication despite being pregnant during the shooting of the film. He also revealed how he and Geetu would often be worried about her and turned into "bouncers and bodyguards" to ensure she was taken care of.

While speaking at the music launch, Yash praised Kiara Advani saying, "How do I say, I think she is such a professional actor. She came into this film; I was a little worried because it's too demanding. The first time we spoke, she said, 'Have you ever done a rain sequence and all?', I said, 'Never, but it's going to be good and easy'. Then I saw her."

He further added, "But the way she dedicated herself, and I must say, even after she was pregnant, she came with 100% commitment. I was more worried; Geetu was more worried. We were like bouncers/ bodyguards on set; we used to take care of her, but she has really dedicated herself. Thank you, Kiara; this one is special."

Interestingly, this is not the first time Yash has spoken about Kiara. During the film's trailer launch event in Bengaluru, Yash defended Kiara against the backlash she received for her intimate scenes with the KGF star in the song Tabaahi. He said, "And what you have to go through as an actor, unfortunately, don't care (about it). Whatever you believe in, you should do, and people will celebrate, people will appreciate. It's just that we are a little ahead of the times."

About Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown-Ups

Directed by Geetu Mohandas, Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown-Ups is touted to be a gangster drama starring Yash in a dual role. The film also includes an ensemble cast of Kiara, Huma Qureshi, Rukmini Vasanth, Tara Sutaria and Nayanthara in key roles. Notably, the film also marks Yash's comeback to the big screen after his 2022 hit KGF Chapter 2.

Interestingly, the film is shot simultaneously in English and Kannada and will be released in dubbed versions in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam. Following multiple delays, Toxic, produced by Yash's Monster Mind Creations and Venkat K. Narayana's KVN Productions, is all set to hit the screens on August 26.
