Shhyamali De, who tied the knot with director Raj in 2015, is a psychology graduate and has worked as an assistant director with Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra and Vishal Bhardwaj. The couple has a daughter together. Not only has she worked as an assistant director, but she is also a scriptwriter and has worked as a creative consultant for top films and classics like Rang De Basanti, Omkara, and Ek Nodir Golpo. Shhyamali De is also best friends with Rajkummar Rao's wife and actress Patralekhaa.

Earlier, in an interview with Deccan Chronicle, Raj had talked about his wife and shared, "Shhyamali De, my wife, constantly advises me about casting. She comes from a non-filmy background, so she always keeps us grounded." Shhyamali De enjoys a following of about 2,871 followers, and her Insta bio shares a positive thought that reads, "May all beings everywhere be happy and free, and may the thoughts, words, and actions of my own life contribute in some way to that happiness for all."

While these rumours of Raj dating Samantha have been growing louder, Shhyamali's Instagram features happy pictures and love-filled notes for her husband.
