Pari Hoon Main

Actor Parineeti Chopra interacts with cameras and the crowd, as she shares ‘pearls’ of wisdom on motherhood and more, in Mumbai on Wednesday.

Festival Fever

Whether he’s on a ‘Jadi Buti’ trip with Major Lazer or struggling to balance on his motorcycle after a brutal leg day at the gym, Nucleya (aka Udyan Sagar) always gives us plenty to talk about.

The Goa-based bass pioneer is all set to make another Mumbai pitstop this month and, much like the last time we saw him tearing up BKC, this visit is also to headline an absolute monster of a festival.
The inaugural edition of CORE (Culture of Real Experiences) is taking over Jio World, featuring live sets from WISH, Ritviz, Karan Kanchan, and AminJaz, alongside our favourite king of desi bass. Beyond the stage, expect a chaotic explosion of gaming, anime, film, cosplay, and creator action too.
Nucleya, real sumos, and Godzilla all sharing a convention centre on June 20 and 21 definitely wasn’t on anyone’s pop culture bingo card — but it’s exactly where we’ll be next weekend. Dust off your best cosplay and brace yourselves.

Menu Madness

The pandemic gifted us a whole ‘new normal’ package, wrapped in a lifetime supply of exhausting acronyms. Sure, WFH was a solid win, but some COVID habits are far from positive (pun most certainly intended). Topping my burn list? QR-code restaurant menus.
Yash Bhanage
I am completely over squinting at my phone just to order a maki roll. And, it turns out, I’m not alone in my petty outrage. Yash Bhanage — the mastermind behind culinary hotspots like The Bombay Canteen, O Pedro, Veronica’s, and Papa’s — shares my exact irritation.
“A restaurant should help you disconnect, not give you another reason to pick up your phone,” Yash admits. “A physical menu is not outdated. It is part of the dining experience. Convenience should make hospitality better, not shift the effort onto the customer.” Preach. Let’s bring back actual paper and real service, and leave the digital doom-scrolling out of dinner.

Reel Magic Season

Move over, Secret Santa — it’s Insta Santa season, with the exiled sultan of swagger, Lalit Modi, spreading holiday cheer via social media in June.
Lalit Modi
It all kicked off when a heartbreaking video went viral in late April, showing a young fan sobbing and chucking his cricket bat after heavy-handed security blocked him from getting Virat Kohli’s autograph.
Enter LKM, whose heart famously melted. He tracked the kid down on a video call and promised him the ultimate consolation prize: an elusive, ultra-rare IPL Season 1 bat signed by every player — including Kohli himself. Talk about a major upgrade.
Now, a second young enthusiast has jumped into the fray, asking “Lalit sir” to source a bat signed by players of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup, which is underway in England. Will this latest reel request yield results? It’s only been a few days, but with LKM’s casual “I will try” reply in the comment section already, the internet is hooked.

Matriarch To Mafia

From matching strides with Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone to his recent outing with Mrunal Thakur, Siddhant Chaturvedi has navigated impressive company in his films so far. Yet, it’s his upcoming collaboration with Jaya Bachchan that truly piques curiosity. His glowing admiration for the legendary actor is particularly wonderful, carrying a subtle ‘if you know, you know’ charm for the Bollywood-initiated.
Siddhant Chaturvedi
But let’s not dwell on past history. Instead, we can tell you that the Gehraiyaan star is currently focussed on a massive body transformation for his turn as trade unionist, politician, and don of Dhanbad, Suryadeo Singh. It’s all heavy weight-lifting and protein-packed meals for the actor at the moment, in a classic twist on ‘go big or go home.’
Stepping into the shoes of a larger-than-life coal belt powerhouse requires a certain gravitas, and Siddhant is clearly leaving no stone unturned to look the part. If his previous physical overhauls are anything to go by, this gritty, beefed-up avatar is bound to turn heads. Trade circles are already buzzing about this shift into intense, real-world drama — and honestly, we can’t wait to see if the bulk matches the hype.

Beyond the stage, expect a chaotic explosion of gaming, anime, film, cosplay, and creator action too.
