Domestic dispute turns fatal in Mumbai's Oshiwara; husband arrested for 30-year-old's murder

A 30-year-old woman was allegedly murdered by her husband following a domestic dispute in the Adarsh Nagar area of Oshiwara, Mumbai, on Tuesday evening. Oshiwara Police have arrested the accused, Dhiraj Pawar, for allegedly attacking his wife Jhumri with a stone before slitting her throat with a knife.

According to police sources, the couple hail from Amravati district and frequently travelled to Mumbai for daily wage work. They have three children one son and two daughters who stay in Amravati.

Police said the couple had arrived in Mumbai on Monday for work and had been facing ongoing family disputes. On Tuesday, around 7.30 pm, another argument reportedly broke out between them in Adarsh Nagar. During the altercation, the accused allegedly struck his wife with a roadside stone, seriously injuring her, and then slit her throat with a knife before fleeing the spot.

After receiving information about the incident, the Oshiwara Police rushed to the spot and launched an investigation. The accused was traced and arrested later the same night. During questioning, he allegedly admitted to committing the crime, police said.

Police have registered a case of murder and further investigation is underway.
