A 59-year-old security guard from a Kandivali-based building has been arrested by the Samta Nagar police for allegedly sexually molesting two five-year-old girls.

The police received two complaints from the parents about the guard allegedly touching the girls inappropriately. The first complaint was filed by a 30-year-old woman, who said the accused molested her daughter while she was playing in the building premises.

The minor mentioned that her friend was with her at the time. The friend's mother was informed, and the second child then told her that the guard had touched her inappropriately as well. The second mother filed a complaint as well.

A case was registered against the guard under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. He was arrested on Thursday night and taken into custody. A special POCSO court remanded him to police custody for further investigation. The police are now investigating if there have been other incidents in the building or the guard's previous place of work.
