The fire affected the local train services earlier in the day. By afternoon, the services resumed normal operations, with the Harbour Line’s first DOWN train departing at 2.11 pm. The caution orders issued on the UP Fast line were also relaxed at 2.29 pm

The fire at Navrang Compound near Mahim Fatak on Sion–Mahim Link Road in Dharavi was declared a 'Level-2 (major)' incident, triggering a multi-agency response and disrupting suburban train services

The Mumbai Fire Brigade (MFB) received the first alert at 12.29 pm. The fire was confined to a ground-plus-one hutment structure inside the compound, located near the railway phatak and Noor Restaurant on 60-Feet Road

Fire engines from Dadar, Bandra-Kurla Complex (BKC), Bandra, and Shivaji Park stations were rushed to the scene along with police teams, ambulances, and ward staff

At 1.18 pm, the incident was upgraded to a Level-2 fire. The cause remains under investigation. No injuries have been reported so far

Traffic on 60-Feet Road was also disrupted as fire and rescue operations continued

Fire brigade officials and railway authorities are jointly monitoring the situation until the blaze is completely extinguished
