A major controversy erupted during the 42nd anniversary of Operation Blue Star as pro-Khalistan slogans were raised inside the Golden Temple complex in Amritsar. Supporters linked to Simranjit Singh Mann`s faction were seen raising slogans, while portraits of Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale and Khadoor Sahib MP Amritpal Singh were displayed during the observance. Activists from Dal Khalsa were also present carrying photographs linked to the 1984 events.
