Saudi Arabia has raised the alarm over an alleged Houthi drone that the Saudi-led coalition says was intercepted before reaching the restricted airspace around Mecca, triggering a sharp diplomatic and political reaction across the region. According to the coalition, the drone was heading toward Islam`s holiest city before it was shot down. The OIC condemned what it described as Houthi aggression against Saudi Arabia and alleged attacks targeting the Mecca and Madinah regions. The Houthis, however, have rejected the Saudi account. A Houthi Politburo member dismissed the allegation as a “worn-out lie” and denied that the drone was targeting Mecca, creating a direct dispute over what happened and where the alleged drone was headed.
