The United States has launched a third wave of military strikes against Iran after Tehran reimposed restrictions in the strategically vital Strait of Hormuz, dramatically escalating tensions in one of the world`s most critical energy corridors. According to reports, the latest US operation targeted more than 300 Iranian military sites linked to maritime security, missile operations and air defence capabilities. US Central Command said the operation was aimed at protecting freedom of navigation and ensuring the uninterrupted movement of commercial vessels through the Strait of Hormuz. Among the reported targets were military and strategic installations in Bandar-e-Jask, Asaluyeh and Bushehr, areas that play a critical role in Iran`s energy infrastructure and coastal defence network.
