Mumbai Indians duo of Quinton de Kock and Raj Angad Bawa have been ruled out of the ongoing Indian Premier League season due to injuries, according to a statement from the franchise.

The Mumbai Indians said that De Kock has been ruled out of the tournament due to a tendon injury to his left wrist that he suffered before their clash against the Sunrisers Hyderabad on April 29. The wicket-keeper scored a century in the early part of the season.

"Quinton de Kock has been ruled out due to a tendon injury in his left wrist, which he sustained before our home game against Sunrisers Hyderabad," MI said.

Meanwhile, MI's young batting all-rounder Raj Bawa has suffered a ligament tear to his right thumb during MI's match against Punjab Kings (PBKS) on May 14 and has been ruled out of the tournament.

"Raj Angad Bawa sustained a ligament tear to his right thumb during our previous match against Punjab Kings and will miss the rest of the season," the Mumbai Indians said in the statement.

Mumbai Indians said that De Kock and Raj Bawa will continue their rehabilitation at their respective homes, with the franchise providing ongoing support and guidance from its medical team as they work towards a return to play.

"Both Quinton and Raj Bawa will continue their rehab in their respective homes, with support and guidance from the Mumbai Indians medical team to help them return to play as soon as possible," reads the statement from MI.

Mumbai Indians are out of playoff contention

Mumbai Indians are already out of the playoff qualification race after winning four and losing eight of their 12 matches so far. MI's campaign has been hampered by injuries, poor form and constant changes to the team.

Hardik Pandya, Rohit Sharma and Suryakumar Yadav have all missed games for the five-time champions due to injuries. MI have used 3 different captains in this campaign, including Hardik Pandya, Suryakumar Yadav and Jasprit Bumrah.

With the last two matches to go, MI are set to finish in the bottom two of the table, after reaching the eliminator last season.
