In the Super 8 match of the T20 World Cup 2026 against Zimbabwe, South Africa emerged victorious by five wickets at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi.

Having put to chase a target of 154 runs, the Proteas scored 154 runs for the loss of five wickets in 17.5 overs. Opening the innings, captain Aiden Markram scored four runs in five balls. Wicketkeeper-batsman Quinton de Kock departed on a two-ball duck.

Ryan Rickelton smashed 31 runs in 22 balls, including four maximums. Facing just 18 deliveries, Dewald Brevis garnered 42 runs, laced with two boundaries and four maximums. David Miller also accumulated 22 runs in 16 balls, with the help of two boundaries and the same number of maximums.

Tristan Stubbs and George Linde stayed unbeaten on the scores of 21 and 30 runs, respectively. Stubbs faced 24 balls, whereas Linde's knock of 21 balls included two boundaries and a maximum.

Zimbabwe's skipper Sikandar Raza returned with the figures of three wickets for 29 runs in four overs. Blessing Muzarabani and Brad Evans bagged one wicket each. Graeme Cremer, Wellington Masakadza, Ryan Burl, and Brian Bennett went wicketless in the T20 World Cup 2026 match against South Africa.

Earlier having opted to bat first, Zimbabwe posted a total of 153 runs for the loss of seven wickets in 20 overs. Opening the inning, wicketkeeper-batsman Tadiwanashe Marumani scored seven runs in seven balls, including a boundary. Fellow opening batsman Brian Bennett accumulated 15 runs in 13 balls, with the help of a boundary and a maximum. Dion Myer was dismissed on 11 runs off 16 balls, which also included a boundary.

Skipper Sikandar Raza played a knock of 73 runs off 43 deliveries, which was laced with eight boundaries and four maximums. Ryan Burl departed on five runs in five balls. Tony Munyonga and Clive Madande registered two and an unbeaten 26 runs, respectively. Munyonga's knock ended in five balls, whereas Madande's knock of 20 balls included three boundaries.

Facing 11 balls, Brad Evans scored eight runs, including a maximum. Wellington Masakadza also stayed unbeaten on one run in one ball.

South Africa's Kwena Maphaka and Corbin Bosch bagged two wickets each. George Linde, Lungi Ngidi, and Anrich Nortje claimed one wicket each. Captain Aiden Markram went wicketless in the T20 World Cup 2026 match against Zimbabwe.
