England beat New Zealand by four wickets in their T20 World Cup Super Eights match here on Friday.

England's victory keeps Pakistan's hopes of fighting for a semi-final spot alive as they face hosts Sri Lanka in Pallekele today.

England chased the 160-run target with three balls to spare.

Earlier, opting to bat, the New Zealand innings lacked that one big knock that would have seen them post a better total in a game in which victory would have secured their passage into the semi-finals alongside England.

Glenn Phillips (39), Tim Seifert (35) and Finn Allen (29) were the chief contributors for the Kiwis with the bat.
