Willingdon Catholic Gymkhana rink football tournament: Holy Cross beat St Thomas 3-2 via tie-breaker

Holy Cross (Kurla) beat St Thomas (Santacruz) 3-2 via tie-breaker to progress in the 45th Willingdon Catholic Gymkhana (WCG) rink football tournament, played at the WCG's tennis courts recently.

After the scores were locked at the end of full time, in the subsequent shootout, Aditya Shinde, Pranay Kanekar and Sven Serrao converted from the spot for Holy Cross while only Shoaib Shaikh and Sabir Shaikh could score for St Thomas.

In another match, Infant Jesus (Vasai) beat Mount Carmel's (Bandra) 3-2. Aniket K scored a brace while Rakshit Pillay added the third goal for Infant Jesus. Zeeshan Shaikh and Nestor netted a goal each for Mount Carmel.
