Bombay Scottish lads two good for St Xavier’s at MSSA inter-school football tournament

Bombay Scottish (Mahim) beat St Xavier's (Andheri) 2-0 to progress to the next round of the Ahmed Sailor Boys U-16 knock-out tournament, part of the Dream Sports MSSA inter-school football tournament, at the Wings Sports Centre, Bandra, on Wednesday.

Scottish opened the scoring through their skipper Hriday Haria (10th minute) in the first half after which Daksh Garg (28th min) helped them double their lead in the second session.

Jamnabai Narsee (Vile Parle) also went into the next round with a 3-1 win over St Peter's (Mazgaon). Ahaan Kawar, Aaroh Bit, and Meir Kadakia netted a goal each for Jamnabai while Atharva Kamble pulled one back for St Peter's.

In another match, Vivaan Tanbday netted a fine hat-trick as Lakshdham (Goregaon) romped to a 4-0 win over Rustomjee Cambridge International ‘B' (Dahisar). Ahaan Suvarna was the other scorer for Lakshdham.

Also, St Xavier's (Borivli) got the better of Fazlani L Academy (Mazgaon) 3-1 via the tie-breaker after both teams played out a goalless draw. In the shootout, Yuvraj Rawat, Dhruv Suthar, and Om Wakode converted from the spot for the Borivli school.
