Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan Khan spent almost a month in custody after he was arrested in October 2021 from an alleged rave party. Sameer Wankhede, the officer in charge of his arrest, recently told the Bombay High Court that he never demanded or accepted any bribe from Shah Rukh Khan to spare his son. The claim comes as Wankhede seeks to quash a CBI FIR accusing him of corruption and extortion in connection with the case. Sameer Wankhede reveals he never took bribe from SRK Former NCB Mumbai zonal director Sameer Wankhede told the Bombay High Court on Monday that he never demanded or took a bribe from actor Shah Rukh Khan to spare his son Aryan Khan following the latter's arrest in a cruise drugs case. Wankhede's counsel, Aabad Ponda, was arguing the Indian Revenue Service (IRS) officer's plea seeking to quash the FIR registered against him in May 2023 by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on charges of corruption and bribery. Ponda told a bench of Chief Justice Shree Chandrashekhar and Justice Suman Shyam that Wankhede never demanded or took a bribe from Shah Rukh Khan. As per the CBI FIR, Wankhede and the other accused in the case allegedly demanded Rs 25 crore from the actor to give a clean chit to his son in the drugs case. However, Ponda told the court on Monday that the CBI has no evidence to establish that Wankhede demanded or received any bribe. About Aryan Khan’s drugs case The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) had received a tip-off about alleged drugs on the cruise ship Cordelia. A search was conducted in accordance with the law, and a few persons, including Aryan Khan, were arrested, the counsel added. Aryan Khan was arrested in the alleged drug bust case on the Cordelia cruise ship on October 2, 2021. Later, the NCB filed a charge sheet in the case against 14 accused but gave a clean chit to Aryan Khan in May 2022. The much-hyped case took a twist in 2021 when an “independent witness” claimed that an NCB official and other persons, including a witness, demanded Rs 25 crore to let off Aryan Khan. The CBI had registered the case against Wankhede and others on charges of criminal conspiracy (Indian Penal Code section 120-B), threat of extortion (388 IPC), as well as bribery under the Prevention of Corruption Act on a complaint from the NCB. Based on the CBI's FIR, the Enforcement Directorate also registered a case against Wankhede, accusing him of money laundering. Apart from this, Sameer Wankhede has alleged that the recently released OTT series The Ba***ds of Bollywood, directed by Aryan, has shown false, malicious, and defamatory content. He also alleged that the image of anti-drug enforcement agencies has been tarnished and shown negatively, thereby undermining public trust in law enforcement agencies. The series features a sequence where a drug enforcement agency officer, bearing a striking resemblance to Sameer, raids a party, similar to how the latter raided a cruise party in October 2021. Now, the film has landed in fresh trouble, with members of the Sikh community seek FIR to be filed against the makers over a scene reciting a sacred Gurbani verse in an inappropriate context, alleging it hurts religious sentiments and demanding an apology. Sikh community demands apology from Dhurandhar 2 makers In the scene where Jaskirat Singh Ranghi (Ranveer Singh) is being transferred, he refuses to accept Ajay Sanyal’s mission, claiming that he has given up and wishes to unite with Waheguru (Almighty). The officer reminds him about the Sikhs’ warrior spirit. He then recites, ‘Soora So Pechaniye, Jo lade deen ke het. Purja purja kat mare, Kabhoo na chadde khet’. R Madhavan recites this verse after he is seen smoking a cigarette. The Sikh community has taken offense at this and demanded an apology from the makers for hurting sentiments. Taking to Instagram, Shiv Sena leader Gurjyot Singh Keer criticised the movie and wrote, “Portraying a character, played by R. Madhavan, speaking to Ranveer Singh while smoking a cigarette and reciting the sacred Gurbani ‘Soora so pehchaniye jo lade deen ke het’ from the Dasam Granth Sahib, authored by Guru Gobind Singh Ji, is deeply hurtful and unacceptable.” He criticised the film for casually diluting the essence of the shabad for many believers. He added, “This is not just dialogue. It is divine.” In the video, he urged the Sikh community to stand united and peacefully protest the alleged insult, calling on people to show black flags to those responsible, including Aditya Dhar, R. Madhavan, and Ranveer Singh, wherever they appear if they fail to issue a sincere apology to the SGPC and the Sikh community. “Apologise immediately, or history has shown what the Sikh community is capable of,” Keer issued a strong warning. 23 March,2026 06:32 PM IST | Mumbai | mid-day online correspondentThe grand “Lyari bungalow” seen in Dhurandhar 2 has become a major talking point among fans, especially after a viral behind-the-scenes video revealed a surprising truth about its real location. Ranveer Singh's Lyari bungalow In the film, Ranveer Singh’s character Jaskirat Singh Rangi, also known as Hamza, is shown living in a lavish mansion in Lyari, Karachi. The house is portrayed as a symbol of his rise in the underworld a space that reflects both power and personal transformation. However, contrary to what many viewers believed, the bungalow is not located in Pakistan at all. The viral video, shared by the architecture firm behind the property, revealed that the luxurious house is actually situated in Amritsar, Punjab. This revelation has left fans both surprised and fascinated, as the film convincingly presents the location as part of Karachi’s Lyari neighbourhood. Known as “Ananda,” the sprawling property is a modern architectural marvel designed by 23DC Architects. Spread across nearly an acre with a built-up area ranging between 16,000 to 20,000 square feet, the home seamlessly blends contemporary design with natural elements. The bungalow stands out for its thoughtful layout and aesthetic appeal. It features expansive glass walls, open courtyards, and lush greenery integrated into the design, allowing natural light and ventilation to flow freely throughout the space. The interiors boast double-height ceilings, minimal yet elegant décor, and a striking black marble spiral staircase that serves as a visual centrepiece. All about the property Outside, the property includes manicured gardens and a spacious swimming pool, giving it the feel of a private retreat rather than just a cinematic set. The seamless connection between indoor and outdoor spaces adds to its charm, making it both visually stunning and functionally serene. In the film, the mansion plays a significant role beyond just being a backdrop. It represents Hamza’s softer, more personal side, offering a contrast to the violent world he inhabits. This emotional layering makes the house an integral part of the storytelling. The revelation about the bungalow’s real location highlights the magic of filmmaking where real Indian locations can convincingly double as international settings. As Dhurandhar 2 continues to generate buzz, this detail has only added to fans’ curiosity, proving that sometimes, what you see on screen is far from reality.

23 March,2026 04:43 PM IST | Mumbai | Aakruti BaglaAhead of its official launch this May, the luxury jewellery label QWEEN has already found its first customer in Aamir Khan. The actor-filmmaker recently commissioned two bespoke rings for Gauri Spratt, custom-crafted by the brand and backed by leading global diamantaires. Aamir Khan's romantic gesture for Gauri Aamir Khan has also come on board as a strategic investor, making this both a personal gesture and a reflection of his belief in the label. While celebrities often invest in brands or lend their names to them, it is far rarer for that investment to translate into personally purchasing from the brand for an intimate moment, signalling Aamir’s genuine faith in its creations. When Gauri Spratt was recently spotted wearing a striking aquamarine ring, the luminous ocean-blue gemstone immediately drew attention for its unusual colour and distinctive design. The piece, it turns out, was privately commissioned by Aamir Khan. Details about the ring Instead of choosing a single ring to mark the moment, Aamir opted to create two separate rings, a gesture reflecting the belief that a single emotion rarely defines love. Rather than capturing a relationship in one symbol, the two rings express the balance of energies that coexist within every bond. They feature an aquamarine and a ruby, gemstones chosen not only for their beauty but also for their rarity and symbolism. At the centre of the aquamarine ring sits a luminous blue gemstone prized for its exceptional quality and rarity. Aquamarines of this size and purity represent less than 0.3% of stones discovered globally. Sourced from Brazil, the gem is set in gold and encircled by 40 natural diamonds forming a radiant halo. The piece came to life through more than 363 hours of craftsmanship, with 131 master artisans contributing to its creation. The second ring features a natural ruby sourced from Madagascar, a region known for producing some of the world’s most sought-after rubies, celebrated for their depth of colour and intensity. Less than 0.1 percent of rubies achieve this level of quality. The stone is secured in a prong setting and required over 812 hours of craftsmanship to complete. Together, the gemstones express a powerful duality: the ruby symbolises passion and enduring devotion, while the aquamarine reflects clarity and emotional depth—fire and water, two energies that often coexist within every relationship.

She called out Aditya Dhar for promoting "propaganda and jingoism" and urged people not to waste money by watching it in theatres. She wrote, "Just watched Dhurandhar 2 and wow! What a masterclass in how to turn something promising into an endurance test. If you really want to watch it, do yourself a favour, don’t waste your time or money in a theatre. Direction, dialogues, editing, background score, acting all consistently subpar. It genuinely feels like no one told them there was a March 19 release deadline approaching. Or worse, they knew and said, ‘Haan perfect hai, bhej do.’" Ramya continued, “And the violence!!! This isn’t a movie; it’s basically a visual handbook on how creatively violent you can get with literally any object lying around. Syringe? Used. Spanner? Used. Knives, spiked balls, machetes, reapers, chains, guns, bombs, bazookas, shutters -you name it, they’ve weaponised it. The director seems to be in a constant competition with himself: ‘How do I make the next scene more violent/comical than the last?’" “Dhurandhar 2 is a HUGE disappointment. Snoozefest/comedy at best. If Part 1 made you cheer, this one will make you question why Dhurandhar 2 why? Ranveer, you’re better than this. Aditya Dhar- jingoism and propaganda is so passe. Get over it," the actress concluded.

23 March,2026 03:10 PM IST | Mumbai | mid-day online correspondentAfter his comments on actress Janhvi Kapoor’s exit from his talent agency started doing the rounds, filmmaker Karan Johar has made a measured appeal against the growing trend of clickbait headlines, urging media platforms to stay mindful of context while quoting interviews. Karan Johar talks about clickbait culture Karan took to his Instagram stories section, where he urged platforms to stay mindful of context while quoting interviews. Stressing that artists willingly participate in conversations and podcasts, he pointed out that lifting a single line out of context can distort intent and discourage open dialogue. “I want to politely speak of Click bait headlines.... Lots of us give interviews and podcasts and we are happy to do so... but to take a line from an interview and quote it out of context is just click bait and makes one vary of speaking at all…” Karan, who did not divulge much about the context of the post, wrote. Calling it a “humble request,” the filmmaker emphasised the need to present statements with integrity rather than twisting them into something sensational. “This is a humble request to NOT quote a line that twists the relevance of the statement made with integrity as opposed to sounding personal, offensive or sensational,” he concluded the post. Karan's post comes amid his comment on celebrities leaving talent agencies and joining other agencies. What Karan Johar said about Janhvi's exit from his talent agency Janhvi Kapoor recently exited Dharma Cornerstone Artist Company (DCAA), led by Karan Johar, and joined Collective Artists Network, spotlighting the growing trend of actors frequently switching talent agencies. Speaking to Hindustan Times, Johar said today’s actors operate in an atmosphere shaped by social media, technology, and constant public scrutiny, which fuels anxiety and a need for rapid validation. Unlike earlier generations, young stars face daily judgment that can be mentally exhausting. While he may not always agree with their career choices, Johar said he understands the pressures they face. He added that the intense spotlight also makes him unsure about encouraging his own children to join films. According to Johar, even industry insiders begin their journeys under heavy perception bias, making the profession emotionally demanding. Despite frequent talent movement, Johar emphasized that talent management remains a strong and profitable vertical for Dharma. He described the industry as a space of “constant moving parts,” where artists regularly shift agencies seeking fresh starts, and some even return. Expressing empathy for younger celebrities, Johar urged those in the public eye to seek therapy and counselling, stressing the need for external emotional support beyond family and friends.
