An origin story that is all set to be another in a long line of money-spinner franchises, 'Deadpool', amongst Marvel comics' most unconventional suited anti-hero adventures, is mouthy, springy, energetic and full of beans.

It's a fun film, supremely enjoyable for it's amazingly buoyant, irreverent humour and slickly orchestrated comic-book action. The opening credit sight gags and funny lines are quite a riot. Just don't be late getting in or you'll miss the most fun you've ever had in the movies.

The film is about former special forces operative turned mercenary Wade Wilson (Ryan Reynolds beautifully suited to the role) who after being diagnosed with terminal cancer and a subsequent sacrifice propelled break-up with his lady love, a career prostitute, Vanessa (Morena Baccarin), decides to enlist in a rogue experiment that leaves him scarred all over while gifting him incredible healing/regeneration powers.

The rogue experiment was meant to make him a slave to evil forces hell-bent on ridding the world of all its goodness and cheer. Wade, armed with a twisted sense of humour, new identity (Deadpool) and a Spiderman-like rubber suit to hide his disfigurement, decides to hunt down the man who nearly destroyed his life in this his very first self-chosen, anti-hero assignment.

Based on a script by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, this non-linear narration of mouthy sociopath-turned-anti-hero Wade Wilson's life is as much a unique and blissful laugh-riot as it is an action-propelled spectacle. It is by far the most entertaining origin story ever to be filmed.

'Deadpool' has all the markings of a wannabe cool super-hero flick, and the genre staples are all too evident in the narrative spiel designed by helmer Tim Miller. So in terms of surprises, there are pitiably few but what really takes this routine experience to that of one that's supremely entertaining is the strong dose of humour underlying every bit of action and drama in the plot. And the opening sequence itself sets the tone for that. Couple that with the lead actor Ryan Reynolds' supreme affinity for the role that calls for a forked tongue and rubbery ingenuity, it's probably a match made in heaven I say!
