Kriti Sanon sticks her neck out
One of the snaps that was shared online by the mag has Kriti Sanon posing with a taxidermied giraffe
Kriti Sanon's photoshoot at the Aynhoe Park, Northamptonshire, England, for a glossy has landed the actor in a controversy. One of the snaps that was shared online by the mag has her posing with a taxidermied giraffe. The animal is seen suspended mid-air held with balloons on its back. Kriti faced severe backlash on social media. Netizens found it insensitive and in poor taste. There has also been an outrage from animal activists who have found the picture to be disturbing, especially as the population of giraffes has seen a decline in recent years.
Social media users, however, gave the post a thumbs down, calling it distasteful for its animal-offensive content. A user commented, "Are people performing this shoot blind? What is happening to this world? So disrespectful to animals @peta @petaindia we need to get rid of this issue"
Another said, "Such a shame! You guys are so shameless. Talking about atrocities while portraying animal cruelty in the name of fashion."
Highlighting the hypocrisy of the post, another user commented, "What the f*** is she talking about atrocities on women when she is posing next to a hanging girrafe ?! Real or fake, its bloody cruelty to even post such pictures. @kritisanon shame on you for even agreeing to pose next to this"
"Guys, it doesn't matter if it's fake or real. The entire picture is just wrong. If a women dummy was hanging with a male model posing..will that be justified? No," read another comment.
Demanding an Apology from Kriti, another user said, "You should take this post down. And delete that picture" And like apologize to every f*****g giraffe. Actually the entire animal kingdom. You want to make a point of subjugation with more subjugation. Ridiculous!
In March this year, Bollywood actress Sonam Kapoor was also clicked at the same location, with the same prop, a picture of which was shared on the location, Aynhoe Park's Instagram page. In the still, Sonam can be seen posing in front of the same giraffe in a red Ralph & Russo ensemble.
