On the pretext of dinner, a 47-year-old freelance photographer invited his colleague home and sodomised him while the latter was asleep on December 4 in Cuffe Parade area. The 37-year-old survivor registered a complaint an hour after the incident and got the accused arrested.
“The accused, identified as Raju Mishra, is a resident of Cuffe Parade and a native of Uttar Pradesh and the victim too lives in the same area. Based on the complaint, the accused was booked under IPC section 377. Mishra is currently in police custody,” said a police officer. Being from the same profession, both of them were good friends.
The cops said Mishra and the survivor, who hails from Madhya Pradesh, have worked together in the past and are married. Their families stay in their hometowns. The accused on December 3 had invited the survivor to his place for dinner and night stay, after which they went to sleep. While the victim was fast asleep, the accused forced himself on him at around 2 am on December 4.
An hour later, the survivor went to Cuffe Parade police station and filed an FIR. He was then taken to a hospital. Mishra was arrested the same day and remanded to police custody. A police officer said, “We have recovered several porn clips from his phone. We are trying to ascertain the reason and further investigating the matter.”
