Palghar: To ‘speed-up’ the process of getting a ration card, an aged man from Vasai allegedly stripped naked in front of a lady officer at the tehsil office yesterday evening.
The accused and his brother went to the tehsil office and told the lady officer to issue them their mother’s ration card immediately or else they would strip, Vasai police station duty officer S M Patil said. One of the brothers took off his shirt, pant as well as his underwear and made unpleasant actions at the lady officer, Patil said.

Both the brothers have been booked under Section 509 (word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman) and Section 506 (criminal intimidation) read with Section 34 (acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intention) of the Indian Penal Code, the police official said. However, no arrest has been made in connection with the offense so far and investigations are on, he added.
