Weeks after Ekta Kapoor stated that she was recreating a two-decade-old hit series - the reference to her hit saga, Kasautii Zindagi Kii being evident - came reports that she would rope in Shaheer Sheikh to play the role of her leading man.

Now, speculations are rife that Kapoor plans to cast Sheikh's rumoured girlfriend and former co-star Erica Fernandes for the female lead, formerly played by Shweta Tiwari. While Sheikh and Fernandes's chemistry was lauded in their last show, Kuch Rang Pyaar Ke Aise Bhi, the series was axed due to low TRPs. Let's hope Kapoor is able to create magic this time.
