Actor Rajpal Yadav, who has made millions laugh with his performances on screen, is currently facing jail time. The actor, known for his comic roles in films like Bhool Bhulaiyaa, Dhol, Bhagam Bhag, De Dana Dan, and others, recently surrendered at Tihar Jail after being found guilty in a Rs 9 crore cheque bounce case. After his case gained traction, some members of the film industry have offered financial help. Actor and self-proclaimed critic Kamaal R Khan has also offered financial assistance. Kamaal R Khan offers Rs 10 lakh On Tuesday, KRK took to his official X account, offering Rs 10 lakh to support Yadav and urging members of the film fraternity to step in. “I am ready to give Rs 10 lakhs for Rajpal Yadav. Let’s all Bollywood people come together to give him Rs 5 crore! If he pays back Rs 5 crore, he can come out of jail immediately! Let’s all help him (sic),” he wrote. Earlier, actor Sonu Sood also extended his support to Rajpal Yadav and urged filmmakers to cast him and offer him an advance on his work. Calling Rajpal Yadav a gifted actor who has given years of unforgettable performances to the film industry, Sonu Sood remarked that life can sometimes be unfair and announced that Yadav would now be part of his film. Apart from Sood, Rao Inderjeet Singh Yadav, owner of Gem Tunes Music, also stepped forward to support the actor with financial assistance of Rs 1.11 crore. About Rajpal Yadav's case For the uninitiated, Rajpal Yadav surrendered to the police after the Delhi High Court directed him to do so in connection with multiple cheque bounce cases. Yadav had taken a loan to produce his film Ata Pata Laapata in 2010 but was unable to repay it. In 2018, a magisterial court sentenced the actor and his wife to six months in jail. In 2019, a sessions court upheld the verdict. In 2024, when the actor and his wife approached the Delhi High Court seeking relief, the court temporarily suspended the sentence, noting that they were not habitual offenders and allowing time for settlement. However, the actor failed to repay the debt. A single-judge bench of Justice Swarana Kanta Sharma deprecated the actor’s conduct, observing his repeated failure to honour settlement commitments despite being granted several opportunities. “This Court is of the view that the conduct of the petitioner no. 1 (Rajpal Yadav) deserves to be deprecated. Despite repeatedly giving assurances and seeking indulgence of this Court, he has failed to comply with the orders passed from time to time,” Justice Sharma observed. The Delhi High Court was hearing a batch of petitions filed by Yadav and his wife challenging their conviction and sentence under the Negotiable Instruments Act.

Known as Godh Bharai, Shrimant, Dohale Jevan, Shaad, Seemantham, Valaikappu, Seemantha, Pulikkudi and Sadhabhakshan across different parts of India — the names may change, but the blessing remains the same: love, protection and celebration of new life.” The ritual involves the hair of the expecting mother being parted by her husband to promote the healthy development of the fetus, ensure the mother’s mental health, and provide protection from negative energies. 11 February,2026 10:22 AM IST | Mumbai | ANIFilmmaker Karan Johar has moved court against YouTuber Ajey Nagar, popularly known as CarryMinati, over allegedly defamatory and abusive content. A civil court has now restrained the content creator from posting such material and directed social media platforms to take down existing videos targeting Johar. The case stems from a roast video that Johar claims harmed his reputation and goodwill built over decades. Court restrains CarryMinati over videos on KJo A court has directed YouTuber Ajey Nagar, popularly known as CarryMinati, from making “defamatory, vulgar, and abusive” content about filmmaker Karan Johar. It also asked social media platforms to take down Nagar’s existing videos targeting the filmmaker. Civil Judge P. G. Bhosale on Monday passed the interim order in a suit filed by Johar against Nagar. Besides the YouTuber, several other parties, including his manager Deepak Char, One Hand Clap Media Pvt Ltd, and Google and Meta, have been named as defendants in the suit. Johar, represented by DSK Legal, filed the suit claiming that certain videos circulating on social media sought to ridicule him and damage his reputation and goodwill “painstakingly built over decades.” He also sought a temporary injunction to restrain Nagar and his associates from making and uploading such videos. The YouTuber’s lawyer submitted that he had already deleted the videos and other material in question and, hence, there was no cause of action left. The civil judge, after hearing all sides, held that “prima facie, it appears that defendant no. 1 and 2 (Nagar and Char) have made defamatory statements and used vulgar language against the plaintiff,” and passed the temporary injunction. It also asked the Meta platform to take down the videos. Why did Karan Johar sue CarryMinati? Ajey posted a roast video on his channel titled Coffee with Jalan, which led Karan’s legal team to point out that the video was modelled around Koffee with Karan, Johar’s popular talk show. The video targeted the director himself while also commenting on Bollywood and nepotism in the industry. This comes amid the Delhi High Court granting an interim injunction protecting filmmaker Karan Johar’s personality rights, prohibiting the unauthorized commercial use of his name, voice, image, and likeness. This action followed lawsuits against the misuse of his persona for merchandise, fake profiles, and obscene content.

11 February,2026 09:13 AM IST | Mumbai | ANIProfessional dancer and flamenco artist Kunal Om spoke to mid-day in an exclusive conversation about making his Bollywood debut as a choreographer in Vishal Bhardwaj's O' Romeo. Kunal Om opened up about his experience working with Avinash Tiwary and Vishal Bharadwaj. Kunal shared that he was drawn to Flamenco after discovering the connection between his Rajasthani roots and Flamenco. Flamenco incorporates gypsy influences from India and also has a history and music inspired by African rhythms, Arabic, and Romani music. He surrendered himself completely to flamenco and trained with the most acclaimed maestros in Spain for several years. He is also known for experimenting with flamenco, creating a fusion of kathak and Rajasthani folk, Qawwali, and Bollywood music. He recently performed at the Kala Ghoda Arts Festival. Now, Kunal is all set to bring flamenco to Bollywood by choreographing a dynamic, never-before-seen sequence for Avinash Tiwary. Kunal Om on working with Vishal Bhardwaj Vishal Bharadwaj is known for his artistic sensibilities, so it was no surprise when Kunal divulged that Bhardwaj was familiar with the dance form and was keen to incorporate it in his film. He received a call from Bhardwaj's office and was called for a meeting, during which he was left in awe of Bhardwaj's humility and artistic vision. Though Bhardwaj had a distinct vision for the sequence, he had faith in Kunal’s choreography skills and gave him complete artistic freedom. “I wanted to prove my mettle and give my best to live up to Vishal ji's expectations. With his guidance, the sequence has come out really well. He gave me the liberty to create and explore. His passion for flamenco was so encouraging and addictive. I am blessed that my journey started with him. He’s a gem of a person, a dynamic director, and he understands all elements and facets of art. It was so nice to see a person of his stature bringing out something so different.” Kunal Om on training Avinash Tiwary Talking about working with Avinash Tiwary, who plays a bullfighter named Jalal in the film, Kunal couldn't stop heaping praises on the actor. He revealed that he did a lot of one-on-one work with Tiwary to train him for the sequence. When asked about the difficulty of adapting flamenco for a non-dancer like Tiwary, Kunal remarked that he faced no challenges due to Tiwary’s patience and dedication. "Avinash wanted to completely immerse himself in the culture to lend authenticity to his performance." Citing an example of his commitment, he stated. "Avinash went the extra mile and did his own research about flamenco by watching videos of performances and studying the body language to prepare." For Avinash, flamenco became a tool for character-building, as he conditioned his body to play a bullfighter with carefully controlled footwork and posture.
