With 10 wins out of 10 (see graphic) in his short and, till date, super sweet professional boxing career, the year 2018 could prove to be one of the biggest in the life of Vijender Singh.
A big international challenge is always an interesting proposition in professional boxing and if the challenge has national pride at stake, it has the potential to raise the stakes by a few million dollars, if not more. British professional boxer Amir Khan, who has his roots in Pakistan, has time and again dared Vijender and the next 12 months should see something concrete firm up on that front. 
Sure, the weight category difference will be a factor &mdash; Vijender is a super middleweight fighter (73 to 76kg) while Amir is in the middleweight category (70 to 73kg) &mdash; but just like last year's Manny Pacquiao v Floyd Mayweather mega multi million-dollar fight, the modalities can be worked around here too given the mouthwatering script at hand.
And the best part is that most parties associated with this Indo-Pak potential potboiler are ready. "It's high time Vijender takes on tougher opponents to prove his credentials," Amir said recently. 
In response, the fiesty Vijender was quick to remark: "It's high time we have a fight now. He [Amir] has been talking for too long now."
Vijender's promoter Neerav Tomar of IOS has also promised to get working on the economics of the match-up. "Weight category difference is not an issue as we have seen the Pacquiao-Mayweather fight happen. We are working on a Vijender-Amir fight," said Tomar. Meanwhile, the ongoing political India-Pakistan tension along the borders will only add fuel and spice to this potentially million dollar fire.
