Israel-Hamas War: Hamas Launches Barrage Of Missiles On Tev Aviv

Months into Israel’s Gaza offensive, Hamas’ armed wing Al-Qassam Brigades launched a barrage of missiles at Tel Aviv on May 26. As Palestinian group launched missiles, it prompted sirens to sound in Tel Aviv for the first time in four months. As per Hamas’ Al-Qassam Brigade, the rockets were launched in response to “Zionist massacres against civilians”. Following the attack, the Israeli military said that eight projectiles were identified crossing the area of Rafah and had received no reports of casualties. Israel’s offensive against Hamas has led to Israeli attack in Rafah, causing an international outcry. Israel launched the operation after Hamas attacked southern Israel on October 7 killing around 1,200 people. The latest attack from Hamas comes days after Hamas Chief Ismail Haniyeh made his first trip to Iran for the funeral of late President Ebrahim Raisi. During his visit to Iran, Hamas Chief Haniyeh met Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. Iran has supported Hamas throughout the war and provided weaponry to fight against Israel. It was during Raisi’s term in office, Iran launched an unprecedented direct attack on Israel after the October 7 attack. Sandeshkhali violence: Police and BJP supporters clash in West Bengal’s Basirhat

The political storm over the events at Bengal’s Sandeshkhali sparked violence in another part of the state on February 13. Clashes broke out between police personnel and BJP supporters on February 13 after efforts were made to defy prohibitory orders clamped in the vicinity of the SP’s office in West Bengal`s Basirhat prior to the agitation of the party over allegations of sexual harassment of women in Sandeshkhali block leading to Sandeshkhali violence. BJP workers, led by the party’s state chief, Sukanta Majumdar, clashed with the police in Basirhat after being stopped from holding a protest. Police personnel were seen charging party workers as the latter broke through barricades and entered the village. Scenes of chaos filled the village as the police resorted to lathi-charge to drive away the protesters. After which, several workers and Sukanta Majumdar were detained. Later, West Bengal BJP chief Sukanta Majumdar, along with the other workers of the party, were released. Sukanta Majumdar said, “The police detained us and party workers...
