In a sensational turn in the ongoing Bollywood copyright controversy, criminal proceedings have now reportedly been initiated against David Dhawan, Ramesh S. Taurani, Kumar S. Taurani, Girish Taurani and Tips Industries Limited before the Hon’ble Criminal Court at UdaKishunganj, Madhepura, Bihar, in connection with serious allegations including cheating, forgery, criminal breach of trust and copyright infringement. The explosive development comes amid the already ongoing high-stakes legal dispute concerning valuable Bollywood film libraries, music catalogues and intellectual property rights associated with some of the industry’s most celebrated cinematic works.
According to sources associated with the matter, the criminal complaint alleges unlawful exploitation and commercial misuse of disputed copyrighted material and proprietary creative assets, along with other serious allegations now forming part of the criminal proceedings before the competent court. The competent court has also issued notices against the aforementioned entities.
