In an industry where high production values often steal the spotlight, Indo-German filmmaker Ravi Gautam is building a name by doing just the opposite-leaning into the raw, the real, and the socially relevant. With two films under his belt, Soch - A Perception and the forthcoming A Million Yard Stare, Gautam is quietly establishing himself as a voice of conscience in international independent cinema.
His debut feature, Soch - A Perception, a socially charged Hindi-language drama set in the Indian Himalayas, explores themes of media distortion, social bias, and the gendered nature of justice. The film has traveled widely and been warmly received, winning the Director’s Vision Award at the Indian Film Festival Stuttgart, Europe’s leading Indian cinema showcase.
