After ticking our funny bones with his comic jabs, Kapil Sharma made his debut in restaurant industry by opening Kap’s Café in Canada.
The cafe was innaugrated on 4th July and his wife Ginny Charath is also a part of this venture. It is precisely located in the 8400 block of 120 Street, on the border of Surrey and North Delta.
The café is truly a sight to behold not only for it’s looks but also scrumptious desserts it offers. Just like the caption reads, it truly offers cosy space with royal vibes.
The glimpse on social media shows how as aesthetically pleasing the pink-and-white theme is. Moreover, the crystal chandeliers, artificial flowers, and baby pink sofas just adds to the warmth.
Coming to the menu, along with their special coffee, Kap’s Cafe also serves an array of desserts, such as lemon pistachio cake, fudgy brownies, and croissants, to name just a few.
However, the café has been in the news for quite some days for an unfortunate and shocking incident. In the wee hours of Thursday, 10th July, around nine bullets were shot at his café.
While no casualties occurred, the incident has shocked the neighborhood as well as the Indian diaspora in the area.
Harjit Singh Laddi, an operative of the banned terror group Babbar Khalsa International (BKI) and one of India’s most wanted men listed by the National Investigation Agency (NIA), has claimed responsibility for the attack in a social media post.
As per reports, Harjit claimed that the motive behind shooting was in retaliation for comments made about the Nihang Sikhs’ attire during an episode of The great Indian Kapil show.
For the unversed, a participant at Kapil Sharma's show had made some humorous remarks on the traditional dress and conduct of Nihang Sikhs that had hurt the sentiments of the community.
After the incident, the Kap’s café team reacted to the incident and thanked everyone for supporting them. They stated how the intention is to provide pleasant experience and urged everyone to stand against violence.
A day after the incident, a team of Mumbai police visited Kapil’s residence in Oshiwara to confirm his address and assure his safety.
However, as per reports by PTI, no statement by the actor was recorded during the visit, neither the security around the building was beefed up, the official added.
On the work front for Kapil, he is yet to decide when will he step out shoot the next episode of TGIKS. He is also gearing up for the release of his upcoming film Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon 2.
