For the unversed, the couple first crossed paths at a party hosted by Bollywood superstar Salman Khan. Both actors launched their careers under Salman’s banner—Sonakshi made her mark with the hit film 'Dabangg', while Zaheer debuted in Salman’s production 'Notebook

'Their relationship blossomed over seven years, including a year of living together, before they finally tied the knot

Sonakshi and Zaheer started dating in 2017 and later appeared on screen together in the 2022 movie 'Double XL

There was a lot of negativity after they announced their wedding. They were also trolled for their interfaith marriage

But seeing the couple together, netizens surely have had a change of heart and many dream of having a bond like the duo

"I feel that when two people are in love, nothing else matters. And I hope people have the strength to follow their heart which is what I did and I'm happy," Sonakshi had told PTI after her marriage, adding that she hopes that everyone gets to live in harmony and should "appreciate and respect each other wherever they come from"

Addressing the protest around the interfaith marriage, Shatrughan Sinha had said, "A wedding is a very personal decision between two people; no one has the right to interfere or comment. To all the protestors I say – go, get a life. Do something useful with your life. Aur kucch nahi kehna (I have nothing else to say)”
