Lauren Wendy Sánchez is a former American journalist. She is also a licensed pilot and the founder of Black Ops Aviation. Additionally, she is also a best-selling author.
Not much is known about how love bloomed between the two, but according to reports, the two met in the mid-2010s.
In 2018, Bezos reportedly hired Sánchez’s company, Black Ops Aviation, to film a promo for his rocket company, named Blue Origin.
The couple dated for a long time, however, they didn't go public with their relationship until 2019.
In 2019, Sanchez separated from her then-husband and Hollywood agent Patrick Whitesell, ending their 14-year-long marriage.
Bezos proposed to Sánchez aboard his $500 million yacht, Koru, in May 2023. 55-year-old Sanchez revealed that Jeff had hidden the ring under her pillow, and she discovered it while going to bed.
Later, the couple reportedly had two engagement parties, one in Beverly Hills and another in Positano, Italy.
Lauren has, on multiple occasions, expressed her excitement to get married to the 61-year-old tech magnate. During an interview, she said, "You know what I'm most excited about? I get to marry the man of my dreams. I do. He's amazing. I get to spend the rest of my life with him, and he loves my kids. And that is really what I am looking forward to."
The couple is now getting married on Friday, June 27, 2025, with the pre-wedding festivities kick-started in Venice.
The wedding is expected to be an over-the-top, extravagant affair. Their wedding alone is reported to be costing $85 million, with more than 200 people in attendance.
