<p>The total overseas box office takings for the film so far is a record-breaking $10 million.</p>
<p>In Britain, "3 Idiots" has grossed more than 1.115 million pounds ($1.8 million), and as the number one film on Christmas Day, out-grossing "Avatar", producers Reliance BIG Pictures said Wednesday.</p>
<p>The film is Britain's highest grossing Bollywood film of 2009 and now the highest grossing Indian film ever to release in the US, beating the takings of "Om Shanti Om".<br /></p>
