Now, mid-day has learnt that the actor has been approached to play Shahid Kapoor's love interest in the social entertainer Roshni (tentative title). Helmed by Toilet: Ek Prem Katha director Shree Narayan Singh and penned by Rustom scriptwriter Vipul K Rawal, the drama revolves around the common man's fight against the power distribution companies in the country that make its consumers cough up huge amounts for bills.

Said a source from the creative team, "Shree Narayan Singh gave Katrina a narration before she left for Los Angeles. She loved the story and is keen to collaborate with him. She has already asked her team to work out further details."
