Kavita Seth is excited about her new song, Yeh Kya Ho Gaya, in Vidya Balan-starrer Begum Jaan. "This is the first time I have collaborated with Anu Malik. It was a wonderful experience," she says. The track has another version by Asha Bhosle; both have been retained in the film.

Talking about the trend of multiple singers recording one song, Kavita says, "Initially, I used to feel disappointed. But then I realised the industry functions in a new way now. Decision-making is no longer in the hands of composers."

Seth says remixes are good for GenNext connect. "Originality is lost; composers try to take shortcuts by remixing old songs. New songs need a lot of promotion. But, at the same time, remixes are good because the younger generation is able to connect to the old hits."
