Konkona Sen Sharma-starrer Lipstick Under My Burkha bagged the Audience Award at the 2017 Glasgow Film Festival even as the makers continue to fight for its release in India.
The honour, presented for the third time, is the only prize handed out at the festival. Reacting to the big win, director Alankrita Shrivastava said, "This award gives me hope and courage. It makes me believe that as women, we must continue to tell our stories, undeterred by those who want to silence us."
