Plabita Borthakur, who plays the character of Rehana in Lipstick Under My Burkha, is a singer too. It was her constant humming on the set that landed her an opportunity to sing in the film. Director Alankrita Shrivastava was aware that she was part of a band.
"I asked her if I could include my original songs in the film and she readily agreed. I used As It Rained for one of the scenes and composed In Your Arms Baby for another," says Borthakur.
