Rishi Kapoor's next release, Chintuji, releases this Friday. And the actor is furious because he feels that the film hasn't been publicised well. There are no banners, hoardings, advertisements and no promotion has been done for the film.

The lead actor is furious that the presenters and distributors, Eros International, haven't promoted his film. The actor is running around, trying to do his bit to create awareness foru00a0the film.

Shocked

Rishi rages, "Chintuji has gotu00a0 stepmotherly treatment. Eros is killing the movie by not promoting it. It's releasing this Friday but no one knows about it. There are no banners, no advertisements, nothing has been done. I am shocked and appalled by the way they have treated my film. If that was the case, they shouldn't have got involved in this film."

He fumes that the big studios only are interested in profit-making, "If they don't want to promote a film, then why make it? If they are pumping money like 40 crore in films like Kambhakkt Ishq, God Tussi Great Ho and other films, they should also promote a film like Chintuji.

I have called and tried to talk to them several times, but they have ignored all my efforts. They only know how to lick the boots of big stars. The least they can do is at least put basic ads in the newspapers so the layman knows the film is releasing."

Disappointing

Even though Chintuji is a small-budget film, Kapoor thinks that it has a chance of doing well. "There have been so many small releases in the last few weeks and the audience has shown interest in watching them. Films like A Wednesday, Khosla Ka Ghosla, Mumbai Meri Jaan have all done well. Tomorrow God willing, Chintuji does well Eros will be the first one to take credit for it. You cannot do this to a film, this is really disappointing."

Producer Bobby Bedi hopes that Eros will step up the promotion in the coming days, "The problem is that they don't know how to promote a film like Chintuji. It requires different aesthetics, strategy and treatment than a Shah Rukh Khan film.

It's a beautiful film that will make you laugh and feel good. Ranjit Kapur, who's making his directorial debut has written Jaane Bhi Do Yaaron in the past, which is a classic. I am optimistic and positive that the audience will support us and come to the theatres on the first day."
