Shaad Ali's next film will star newcomers. A remake of Mani Ratnam's Tamil film, 'O Kadhal Kanmani', which released earlier this year, it deals with the subject of live-in couples.

Buzz is that Karan Johar will produce the film and has bought the remake rights.
Shaad's directorial debut 'Saathiya' (2002) was also a remake of Mani Ratnam's Tamil film 'Alaipayuthey' (2000).
