Besides acting, Sridevi is also passionate about painting. The actor is set to auction her paintings for charity in Dubai next month. Among her most sought-after works, as per art dealers in Dubai, is a portrait of Sonam Kapoor, which was created after the release of Saawariya (2007). A source tells mid-day that the auction will be held next month and the starting price for Kapoor's painting is Rs 10 lakh.

"Sridevi has been painting for many years. It's her favourite pastime. In 2010, an international art house approached her to auction her work. But she didn't agree. Since the event in Dubai is for a noble cause, it drew her. Sonam has a massive fan following in Dubai and her popularity has grown in the Middle East after her Project Runway outing with Elli Saab. The bidders are hoping that the painting will sell at a high price," says the source.

Another artwork that will be on display features Michael Jackson. "That's her personal favourite. The bid on it will start at R8 lakh," says the source. Sridevi and Kapoor remained unavailable for comment.
