She ushered in 2022 in pyjamas, red lipstick and her trademark pout. She also kept her nasal spray handy so “that no one loses their smell and humour in 2022”. Malaika Arora and Arjun Kapoor missed each other on New Year’s Eve. As Kapoor is in self-isolation after contracting the virus, the two posted a throwback picture from their Maldives vacation. “I miss you Mr Pouty,” wrote Arora. “We wish all of you a happy and pouty 2022 ahead,” Kapoor added.
Wishing a year of no worries
Alia Bhatt gave 2022 “some Hakuna Matata energy” as she shared photographs of her New Year getaway with beau Ranbir Kapoor. Though the two have not disclosed their location, fans are sure that the lovebirds are in Africa as she chose the Swahili term meaning ‘no worries’ popularised in The Lion King (1994) to wish fans a happy 2022. “Stay safe, smile, be simple and love more,” posted Bhatt.
Mrunal tests positive
Mrunal Thakur rang in 2022 in quarantine after testing positive for COVID-19. The actor revealed, “I am having mild symptoms. I have isolated myself and following the protocols given by health professionals.” She urged everyone to stay safe and added, “If you have been in contact with me, request you to please get tested immediately.” Thakur had been promoting her next, Jersey, co-starring Shahid Kapoor, which was to release in theatres on December 31. The rising virus cases amid the Omicron scare compelled the makers to postpone the sports drama’s release.
Parineeti’s travel diaries
The travel bug has bitten Parineeti Chopra again. She jetted off to Prague for the New Year celebrations. The actor spent a good part of 2021 travelling to different countries, including the Maldives, Austria, Turkey and England, to catch up with Mimi didi (cousin Priyanka Chopra Jonas), who was shooting for Citadel. Pari is already planning her next vacay.

Rhea Chakraborty reflected on 2021 and called it “a year of healing and pain”. The actor added, “But I am smiling and looking at you 2021 because indeed what doesn’t break you makes you stronger. May 2022 be kind to all of us. Love and light,” she added.
