TV actress Roshni Walia, best known for her role as Ajabde Punwar in Bharat Ka Veer Putra Maharana Pratap, among others, is all set to make her big Bollywood debut with Son of Sardaar 2. She will be seen starring alongside Ajay Devgn and Mrunal Thakur in the film, which is slated for a theatrical release on August 1. Notably, the film is set to clash with Dhadak 2 at the box office. Ahead of the film's release, the actress opened up about her mother, Sweety Walia and her parenting style.

Roshni Walia recently appeared on a Hauterrfly podcast, wherein she revealed that her mother would often advise her to use protection, something that's still very unconventional for a parent to discuss openly with their child. The 23-year-old recalls, "She’d say, 'If you do anything, use protection.' She told my older sister (Noor Walia) even more than me, because I was younger back then. Now that I’m growing up, she tells me too. She’s always said it to my sister: 'Use protection.'"

Roshni, who started her career as a child artist, revealed that her mother has no idea how much money she has in her bank account, and never questions her about it either.

The Son of Sardaar 2 actor also opened up about her mother's bold parenting style and credits her mother for her upbringing. Talking of her mother's rules, she shared, “I’m growing up properly thanks to my mum, she gives me both freedom and guidance. Her rules don’t feel like pressure to me... they feel trendy!” Roshni spent most of her childhood on film and television sets. Talking about her experience, she said, “Working with adults from such a young age taught me a lot about life. I learnt the industry's politics quite early. It was a very unique experience.”
“All credit for where I am today goes entirely to my mum. She left her hometown and came to Mumbai just to support me and my dreams. Without her sacrifice, I wouldn’t have made it this far," Roshni added.
