Back in 2012, three debutants, Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan and Sidharth Malhotra, starred in one of the most iconic movies of Bollywood - Student of the Year (SOTY) by Karan Johar. The high-school romance drama to date serves as nostalgia for many and has become a huge booster for the careers of each of the three stars, who today rank among the top. Now, more than a decade later, apart from being named in the A-list squad, the trio have grown in their respective personal lives as well. All three of them are now in a new phase of their lives as they embrace parenthood. Another noteworthy thing which is making all the SOTY fans go gaga is the fact that all three of them have daughters. The fans cannot help but get excited about the heartwarming coincidence as it marks a full-circle moment for fans.

The SOTY trio are all girl parents

On November 6, 2022, Alia Bhatt was admitted to the Sir HN Reliance Foundation Hospital and Research Centre in Mumbai, where she gave birth to a healthy baby girl with her husband, Ranbir Kapoor. They named their daughter Raha, which they revealed on November 24, 2022. In June 2024, the second SOTY member, Varun Dhawan, welcomed a sweet little daughter with his wife, Natasha Dalal. The childhood sweethearts called their daughter Lara.

On July 15, 2025, the last-standing member, Sidharth Malhotra, became a girl dad after his wife and actress Kiara Advani gave birth to a baby girl. With the couple becoming proud parents to a baby girl, they join the list of Student Of The Year stars who form the 'baby girl' gang of Bollywood.

Netizens react

The internet was naturally buzzing with excitement and joy as reactions poured in. One user on Reddit wrote, "girliepops fr🥹❤️‍🩹" Meanwhile, many expressed their desire to have 'Parents of the Year sequel.' Many users also noted how the future of Bollywood will have these girls turning into superstars, saying, "So, a couple of decades later, a girl gang will take over B'wood!! 😁" and "Can't wait for the generation of Bollywood. Cause the girls are going to take off. Congratulations to the new parents 🥰"
